The Siam Commercial BankPublic Company Limited (Thai: ธนาคารไทยพาณิชย์ - Thanakan Thai Phanit, kurz: SCB) war die erste Bank, die im Jahre 1907 auf Betreiben des Prinzen Mahisara Rajaharudaya (Thai: พระองค์เจ้าไชยันตมงคล กรมหมื่นมหิศรราชหฤทัย - Phra-ongchao Chai Yan Tamongkhon Krom Muen Mahison Racha Haruethai) mit Erlaubnis des Königs Chulalongkorn (Rama V.) in Thailand gegründet wurde.

Vermögens- und Besitzstruktur

Sie ist die zweitgrößte Bank in Thailand, nach Marktkapitalisierung die größte (Stand 31. Dezember 2006). Auch ihr Filialnetz ist mit mehr als 950 Zweigstellen und 3.828 Geldautomaten das größte Thailands.

Die größten Anteilseigner sind das Crown Property Bureau mit 23,73% und das Finanzministerium mit 18,5%.

Vorstandsvorsitzende ist Frau Kannikar Chalitaporn (Thai: กรรณิกา ชลิตอาภรณ์ - Kannika Chalit-Aphon).
