Stay-behind

Stay-Behind-Organisationen sind militärische Widerstandsorganisationen die für den Fall der Okkupation eines Staates, oder von Teilen seines Territoriums, durch feindliche Truppen nachrichtendienstliche Aufklärung in den besetzten Gebieten leisten und Sabotageakte im Hinterland verüben sollen. Beispiele sind Gladio, als Organisation der NATO, die Geheimarmee P-26 in der Schweiz oder der „Österreichische Wander-Sport-und Geselligkeitsverein (ÖWSGV)“, der von MI6 und CIA in Österreich aufgebaut worden war.[1] Auch die nationalsozialistische Freischärlertruppe „Werwolf“ hatte ähnliche Aufgabenstellungen. Nach dem Ende des Kalten Krieges haben Stay-Behind-Organisationen in ihrer Bedeutung abgenommen, bekamen andere Zuständigkeitsfelder oder wurden aufgelöst.
