Joe Swail (* 29. August 1969 in Belfast) ist ein nordirischer Snookerspieler.

Swail gab sein Profidebüt 1991. Zuvor war er einmal englischer Amateurmeister und Finalist bei den nordirischen Amateurmeisterschaften. Zu seinen größten Erfolgen zählen die Halbfinalteilnahmen bei den Weltmeisterschaften in Sheffield 2000 und 2001 und seine Finalteilnahme bei den Welsh Open 2009, in der er jedoch Allister Carter 5:9 unterlag, sowie sein Sieg bei einer der drei Strachan Challanges (einer Turnierserie, die 1993 einmalig ausgetragen wurde und bei der es ein Zehntel der üblichen Ranglistenpunkte gab).

Derzeit nimmt er den 22. Platz in der Snookerweltrangliste ein.

Swail leidet an einer angeborenen Hörschwäche. Der BBC sagte er, dass dies ihm bei den Weltmeisterschaften hilft, da ihn der Jubel des Publikums und andere Nebengeräusche des Nachbartisches nicht so beeinträchtigen.

Sein Spitzname ist The Outlaw, ein Wortspiel auf den Film The Outlaw Josey Wales.
