Die Universität des Freistaates (Afrikaans: Universiteit van die Vrystaat; Englisch: University of the Free State) ist eine staatliche Universität in der südafrikanischen Stadt Bloemfontein, Hauptstadt der Provinz Freistaat.
Die Universität des Freistaates wurde 1904 gegründet und hat heute rund 26.500 Studenten. Die Universität bietet Vorlesungen und Abschlüsse sowohl in Afrikaans als auch in Englisch. Rektor der Universität ist Professor Frederick Fourie.
