SXR Uranium One ist ein Produzent von Uran und Gold. Das Unternehmen ist an der Börse in Toronto und in Johannesburg unter dem Kürzel SXR gelistet. Uran gewinnt das Unternehmen in Kanada, Südafrika sowie Australien.

Geschichte

SXR Uranium One entstand im Dezember 2005 aus einem Zusammenschluss von Aflease Gold and Uranium Resources of South Africa und der kanadischen Southern Cross Resources Inc.

Das Unternehmen gab am 12. Februar 2007 bekannt, dass es seinen Mitbewerber UrAsia Energy in einem Aktientausch übernimmt. Dadurch wird SXR Uranium One, dann als Uranium One Inc., der 2. größte Produzent von Uran weltweit, nach Cameco, der eine Kapitalisierung am Aktienmarkt von etwa 3,8 Milliarden Euro aufweisen wird. Im Aktientausch erhalten die Aktionäre von UrAsia Energy 0,45 Uranium-One-Aktien je UrAsia-Aktie, was einem Gegenwert von 7,05 kanadischen Dollar zum Schlusspreis am 9. Februar entspricht.[1] Die Genehmigung durch die Aufsichtsbehörden steht noch aus.[2]
