'Chat masala

Chat Masala (Hindi चाट मसाला) ist ein indisches Masala (Gewürzmischung) und wird in Indien hauptsächlich für Salate und erfrischende Chutneys und Rajitas verwendet (z.b. Jogurtchutneys). Aber auch für Süßspeisen und Obst. Der Geschmack ist erfrischend würzig, leicht säuerlich und ähnelt schwach dem hier bekannten Fondor. Es weist aber auch ein völlig eigenständiges Aroma auf.

Chat Masala setzt sich typischerweise aus folgenden Gewürzen zusammen :

Verwendung in der Küche

Chat Masala wird hauptsächlich für Salate verwendet (meistens in Verbindung mit Zitronensaft und Jogurt). Aber auch in Chutneys, Rajitas, Lassis und Süßspeisen findet es Verwendung. Man kann es auch für scharfe Speisen und Currys benutzen, aber das ist eher eine Seltenheit.
