Theo Colborn

Theo Colborn (* 1927) ist eine Professorin für Zoologie an der University of Florida in Gainesville. Ihr Arbeitsgebiet sind hormonaktive Substanzen und deren Auswirkungen auf die Gesundheit. Colborn ist Gründerin und Präsidentin der Organisation The Endocrine Disruption Exchange (TEDX).[1]

Ihr Buch Our Stolen Future, welches sie gemeinsam mit Dianne Dumanoski und J. Peterson Myers verfasste, ist in 18 Sprachen erschienen.[2] Im Dokumentarfilm Underkastelsen bezeichnet Colborn die von hormonaktiven Substanzen ausgehende Gefahr als größere Bedrohung als die Folgen des Klimawandels.[3]

Neben einigen anderen Preisen ist Colborn im Jahr 1999 der Rachel-Carson-Preis verliehen worden.[4]
