FSMA

FSMA (field installable subminiature assembly) bezeichnet Lichtwellenleiter-Steckverbinder mit Schraubverriegelung, die äußerlich sehr dem elektrischen SMA-Steckverbinder ähneln. FSMA ist der erste international standardisierte Lichtwellenleiterstecker. Ein FSMA-Stecker nimmt eine Faser auf. Bei dieser Steckerart sind die Faserenden plan (näheres dazu siehe Lichtwellenleiter).

FSMA-Buchsen enthalten oft statt einer Faser andere optische Elemente (Laser, Leuchtdiode, Fotodiode).

FSMA ist mit der Norm IEC -SC 86B(CO)20 festgelegt.
