Handlung

Der Kleinganove Jack Charles wird plötzlich mit seiner Tochter Kelly konfrontiert, die dem Kinderheim entflieht. Kurzerhand entführt er seinen Sohn aus dem Heim und flüchtet mit den Kindern durch die USA. Das FBI und die Polizei von vier US-Bundesstaaten verfolgen ihn.

Kritiken

  • Zeitung Chicago Sun-Times (Roger Ebert) sagte am 27. August 1993: Der Film wäre genial. In der Kritik wurde sehr stark Halle Berry gelobt, die potenziell zu den „heißesten“ Darstellerinnen Hollywoods gehören sollte („Berry is potentially one of the hottest actresses in Hollywood right now“). Gelobt wurde ebenfalls die Arbeit von Diane Ladd, die Darstellung von Patrick Swayze hingegen kritisiert.
  • James Berardinelli sagte: Der Film wäre ein „Fehlgriff“ („mistake“). Er kritisierte die Darstellung von Patrick Swayze, die ihn nach dem Spiel von Swayze in Stadt der Freude (City of Joy) enttäuschte. Berardinelli lobte Sabrina Lloyd.
