Harmonic Brass ist ein Münchener Blechbläserquintett.

Wirken

Harmonic Brass wurde 1991 von Karl Reissig gegründet, 1997 entschieden sich die Musiker, die allesamt eine Hochschulausbildung und Engagements bei renommierten Orchestern hinter sich haben, für die Selbständigkeit.

Zum Repertoire von Harmonic Brass gehören klassische Meisterwerke ebenso wie selbst geschriebene Arrangements und moderne Stücke aus aller Welt. Das Ensemble bietet Brass-Musik aus den verschiedensten Epochen und Stilrichtungen dar. Durch humorvolle Zwischenmoderationen werden die Darbietungen der Gruppe zusätzlich bereichert und eine enge emotionale Bindung zum Publikum aufgebaut.

Harmonic Brass arbeitet bei Konzerten und CD-Aufnahmen teilweise eng mit dem Leipziger Gewandhausorganisten Matthias Eisenberg zusammen. Harmonic Brass hatten bereits Tourneen in ganz Europa, Japan, den USA, Südamerika, dem Nahen und Fernen Osten, Kanada und Südafrika. Unter anderem im Auftrag des Goethe-Institut waren die Künstler weltweit zu Konzerten unterwegs. Die Weltersteinspielung einiger Werke von Johann Sebastian Bach wurde von der Zeitschrift "Fanfare", einem US-amerikanischen Fachmagazin, enthusiastisch gefeiert.

Bis 2009 hat Harmonic Brass 24 CDs veröffentlicht. Für die Mitglieder des "Clubs der Mäzene" geben die Künstler eine eigene Mitgliederzeitung heraus. In ihrem eigenen Verlag Brass Works Munich bieten sie Arrangements und Kompositionen für Posaunenchöre und Brass-Ensembles an. Außerdem veranstalten die Musiker Workshops für Blechbläser.
