Intrauterine Insemination

Intrauterine Insemination (IUI) ist eine Methode der künstlichen Befruchtung.

Bei der intrauterinen Insemination werden die gewonnenen Samenzellen, die im Labor gereinigt und selektiert wurden, mittels Katheter zum Zeitpunkt des Konzeptionsoptimums in die Gebärmutterhöhle übertragen, somit den herangereiften Eizellen am nächsten. Der vermutliche Zeitpunkt des Eisprungs wird vorher mittels Hormon- und Ultraschalluntersuchung abgeschätzt. Oft werden die Eizellreifung und der Eisprung medikamentös herbeigeführt.
