Der AFC Newport County ist ein Fußballverein in Newport, Wales. Der Verein spielt derzeit in der englischen Conference South. Der Verein wurde 1912 gegründet und kam in die dritte Division der Football League im Jahr 1920. Newport gewann den Welsh Cup. 1980 erreichte Newport auch das Viertelfinale des Europapokals der Pokalsieger, in dem sie nur knapp dem FC Carl Zeiss Jena unterlagen. 1988 wurden sie allerdings von der Conference South verbannt , doch wurde drei Monate die Liga neugeordnet.
