Nông Đức Mạnh (* 11. September 1940) ist seit dem 22. April 2001 Generalsekretär der Kommunistischen Partei Vietnams.

Anmerkung: Bei diesem vietnamesischen Namen lautet der Zuname Nông, in westlichen Texten ist die Schreibweise oft vereinfacht Nong. Gemäß dem lokalen Brauch sollte die Person mit ihrem Rufnamen Manh bezeichnet werden.

Seine offizielle Biographie besagt, dass er ein Bauernsohn aus dem Volksstamm der Tay sei und am 11. September 1940 in Cuong Loi, Na Ri District, Provinz Bac Kan geboren wurde. Dennoch gibt es Gerüchte, er sei der uneheliche Sohn von Hồ Chí Minh selbst.

Er wird weitgehend als Reformer betrachtet und hat angekündigt, dass er bis 2020 Vietnam zu einem Industrieland machen will.
