Der Northern European Cup Formula Renault 2.0 ist eine Formel-Rennserie in der ausschließlich der Formel Renault 2.0 zum Einsatz kommt. Es handelt sich um eine Nachwuchsserie die 2006 aus der deutschen und holländischen Formel Renault 2.0 gegründet wurde. Die „NEC“ wird auf Rennstrecken in Deutschland, Holland, Belgien, Skandinavien und der Tschechischen Republik ausgeführt. Sie ist ein Teil der Formel Renault 2.0, deren Serien weltweit ausgetragen werden.

Fahrzeug

Die Formel Renault setzt auf Einheitschassis des französischen Herstellers Tatuus. Der 490 kg schwere Tatuus FR2000 entspricht sogar den aktuell gültigen Crash-Normen der FIA für Fahrzeuge der Formel 3. Ein von ORECA vorbereitetes Renault Triebwerk mit ca. 144 kW beschleunigt die Fahrzeuge bis auf 240 km/h. Darüber hinaus kann der Formel Renault auch mit einem sequenziellen 6-Gang Getriebe, einstellbarem Fahrwerk und Michelin Reifen aufwarten.
