Ochakov

Otschakiw (ukrainisch Очаків; russisch Очаков/Otschakow) ist eine ukrainische Hafenstadt in der Oblast Mykolajiw mit etwa 10.000 Einwohnern.

Otschakiw war eine an der Mündung des Dnjepr-Bug-Liman gelegene Festung der Osmanen, bis sie im Jahr 1788 durch die Russen erobert wurde.

Baron Münchhausen will bei der Belagerung dieser Festung seinen berühmten Ritt auf der Kanonenkugel vollführt haben.
