Omnivore

Allesfresser (auch Omnivore, Polyphage oder Pantophage) ist eine wissenschaftlich nicht näher definierte Bezeichnung für Organismen (meist Tiere) mit einem weitestgehend unspezialisierten Nahrungsspektrum (lateinisch omnivorus, „alles verschlingend“). Häufig werden als Allesfresser solche Tiere bezeichnet, die sich relativ ausgeglichen sowohl von Pflanzen als auch von Tieren ernähren. Wissenschaftlich anerkannte, scharfe Abgrenzungen von „Allesfressern“ zu „Fleisch“- (Karnivoren) bzw. „Pflanzenfressern“ (Herbivoren) gibt es nicht.

Als typische Allesfresser gelten z. B. Schaben bei den Insekten, unter den Vögeln Rabenvögel, Möwen und verschiedene Sperlingsvögel, unter den Säugetieren Braunbären und Kleinbären wie der Waschbär, viele Marderartige, altweltliche und neuweltliche Schweine, Schimpansen und Menschen.
