Das US-amerikanische Unternehmen Outlast Technologies, Inc., Boulder/Colorado (USA), ist der Pionier und weltweit führend bei der Forschung, Entwicklung, dem Design und der Vermarktung von Phase-Change-Materialien (PCM) und -Anwendungen. Seit 1992 hält Outlast Patente für verkapseltes PCM als Beschichtung auf textilen Materialien und in Fasern. Den europäischen Markt bearbeitet die Outlast Europe GmbH mit Sitz im baden-württembergischen Heidenheim an der Brenz/Deutschland.

Die Temperatur regulierende Technologie des innovativen Technologieunternehmens Outlast wird bei Bekleidung, Schuhen, Bettwaren und anderen Gebieten eingesetzt. Outlast-Fasern, -Stoffe und –Beschichtungen wurden ursprünglich für die NASA entwickelt und enthalten patentierte mikroverkapselte Phase-Change-Materialien, so genannte Thermocules, die überschüssige Körperwärme aufnehmen, speichern und wieder abgeben und so mehr Komfort bringen.
