Persistent sexual arousal syndrome (PSAS) oder Persistent genital arousal disorder (PGAD), dt.: „andauernde genitale Erregungsstörung“, ist eine Krankheit, bei der Personen an einer sexuellen Dauererregung leiden. In einigen Fällen bekommen die Betroffenen bis zu 250 Orgasmen am Tag. Bisher ist diese Art der Erkrankung nur bei Frauen bekannt. Die Orgasmen treten unerwartet und ungewollt auf, es reichen leichte Vibrationen, etwa beim Bus- oder Aufzugfahren. Teilweise löst schon ein vibrationsähnliches Geräusch, wie etwa das eines Föhns, einen Orgasmus aus.[1][2]

Das Syndrom wurde 2001 erstmals beschrieben[3] und ist noch relativ unerforscht – es gibt weder Medikamente noch andere Therapien, die die Krankheit heilen könnten.[4] Möglicherweise lösen Arzneimittel bisweilen die Symptome aus.[5][6]
