Pątnów (deutsch 1940-1945 Patenau) ist ein Ort mit ca. 1400 Einwohnern in Polen. Pątnów liegt ca. 10 km südlich von Wieluń und ca. 100 km östlich von Wroclaw im Powiat Wieluński in der Woiwodschaft Łódź und liegt am Rande der Wieluner Höhen (Wyżyna Wieluńska), einem Karstgebiet. 1940 wurde das Dorf im Zuge der Besetzung Polens von Deutschen besiedelt und in Patenau umbenannt. Vorwiegend wurde die deutschstämmige Bevölkerung aus Osteuropa mit Land- und Gutsbesitz nach Südpolen gelockt. Die Deutschen verließen Anfang 1945 das Dorf und Pątnów trägt seither wieder seinen ursprünglichen Namen.
