Die Pitons Management Area ist ein seit 2004 zum UNESCO Weltnaturerbe zählendes Gebiet im Südwesten der Insel St. Lucia, ein paar Kilometer südlich der Stadt Soufrière.

  • Lage: 13°48'25" N, 61°04'13" W
  • Größe: ca. 3000 ha.

Das Schutzgebiet umfasst:

  • tropischen Regenwald, subtropischen Regenwald, Trockenwald je nach Höhenzone,
  • zwei erkaltete Vulkankerne, die 770 und 743 m hohen Pitons (Gros Piton und Petit Piton; Gros Piton ist der südlichere und etwas höhere der beiden Gipfel),
  • ein geothermales Feld mit Schwefelfumarolen und Thermalquellen,
  • ein Meeresgebiet mit artenreichen Korallenriffen.

Das Gebiet ist sowohl wegen der zahlreichen, zum Teil seltenen Arten, seiner geologischen Vielfalt als auch wegen der landschaftlichen Schönheit auf der Liste des Weltnaturerbes.
