Chaka Demus & Pliers sind ein jamaikanisches Musiker-Duo.

Es besteht aus DJ Chaka Demus, bürgerlicher Name John Taylor, geboren in Kingston, Jamaika im August 1963, und dem Sänger Pliers, geboren als Everton Bonner in Rockhall Hills, Jamaika am 4. April 1963.

Ihre erste Single "Murder She Wrote", aufgenommen von den Produzenten Sly und Robbie, wurde gleich ein Hit. Die nächste Single "Tease Me" blieb 1994 monatelang in den britischen Single-Charts und stieg bis zum Platz 3 auf. Ihren größten Erfolg hatten sie aber im selben Jahr mit ihrer Version von Twist and Shout, die zusammen mit Jack Radics und der Taxi Gang entstand und ein Nummer-1-Hit in Großbritannien wurde. Ihr Debütalbum "Tease Me" erreichte in der Folge ebenfalls Platz 1 in GB und wurde mit Dreifach-Platin ausgezeichnet. In Kanada und Frankreich erreichte es Platin und in den USA Gold-Status.
