Proximity

Proximity bzw. Wortabstand bezeichnet im Information Retrieval den Abstand, den zwei Wörter in einem Text haben.

Funktionsweise

Mithilfe von Proximity-Operatoren (Wortabstandsoperatoren) kann bei einer Suchanfrage eingeschränkt werden, wie weit entfernt zwei Suchworte im Text stehen dürfen. Damit lässt sich die Präzision einer Suche erhöhen.

Möglichkeiten

  • Festlegung des Abstands: wort1 WITHIN "m" "units" OF wort2
(unit = Zeichen, Wort, Satz, Absatz...)
  • Reihenfolgeoperatoren: BEFORE, AFTER
  • Adjazenzoperator: wort1 ADJACENT wort2
wort2 muss direkt nach wort1 stehen
