Die Enstrom Helicopter Corporation wurde offiziell im Jahre 1959 in Menominee, Michigan (USA) von dem Waldarbeiter und Mechaniker Rudy Enstrom gegründet.
Enstrom produziert hauptsächlich kleine Hubschrauber für Privatkunden, die oft als Trainingshubschrauber benutzt werden. Die von Enstrom produzierten Typen 280FX und F28F sind die einzigen Hubschrauber, welche einen Turbo-Flugmotor besitzen.
Der aktuelle der Firmenchef ist Jerry M. Mullins.
