Austrian Social Forum

Austrian Social Forum (ASF) ist die Bezeichnung für die seit 2003 in Österreich stattfindenden Treffen der Sozialforenbewegung, in der sich Organisationen, Initiativen und Einzelpersonen einbringen.[1]

Wie die kontinentalen Sozialforen und das Weltsozialforum arbeiten auch die lokalen Sozialforen auf der Grundlage der Charta der Prinzipien des Weltsozialforums.

In Österreich fanden bislang vier Sozialforen und eine Arbeitstagung statt:

  • 2003 in Hallein von 29. Mai bis 1. Juni; die Gründungsveranstaltung, laut attac gab es mehr als 175 Veranstaltungen und 1500 Teilnehmer[2]
  • 2004 in Linz von 3. bis 6. Juni
  • 2005 in Salzburg von 4. und 5. November eine Arbeitstagung[3]
  • 2006 in Graz von 15. bis 17. Juni
  • 2008 in St. Peter in der Au bei Amstetten von 24. bis 26. Oktober
