Refuseniks

Refusenik (Übersetzung: mesorav); oder Otkaznik (отказник}, von "отказ", d.h. "ablehnen") war ein inoffizieller sowjetischer Ausdruck für Personen, typischerweise sowjetische Juden, denen die Möglichkeit einer Emigration verweigert wurde. [1]

Der Begriff erhielt eine weitere Bedeutung. Susan Sontag bezeichnet in ihrem unten aufgeführten Buch die Wehrdienstverweigerer der israelischen Armee als Refuseniks. In diesem Sinn wird der Begriff auch im Deutschen gebraucht.

Adaptionen

Unter der Regie von Laura Bialis wurde 2007 ein US-Amerikanischer Dokumentarfilm von 120 minütiger Länge unter dem Titel Refusenik über die Bemühungen und Schwierigkeiten der Emigration sowjetischer Juden gedreht. [2]
