Der Flughafen von Schardscha – IATA-Kürzel SHJ – ist der drittgrößte Flughafen der Vereinigten Arabischen Emirate.

Er ist einer der wichtigsten Cargo-Flughäfen im Nahen Osten und wird auch von Lufthansa Cargo angeflogen.

Ferner ist er die Heimatbasis der Billigfluggesellschaft Air Arabia.


Unfälle / Zwischenfälle

Am 10. Februar 2004 verunglückte beim Landeanflug eine Fokker F-50 der Kish Air, wobei 43 der 46 Insassen starben[2].
