Lage

Gourma ist eine Provinz im Osten des westafrikanischen Staates Burkina Faso, innerhalb der Region Est mit der Hauptstadt Fada N’Gourma. Im Zuge der Neuaufteilung der administrativen Einheiten am 24. April 1996 wurde die Provinz Gourma durch Neubildung der Provinzen Komondjari, Kompienga und Koulpélogo erheblich verkleinert. Die Einwohnerzahl beträgt 314.169 (Zensus 2006), hauptsächlich Angehörige der Gourmantché.
