Satyendranath Bose (Bengalisch: সত্যেন্দ্রনাথ বসু, Satyendranāth Basu; * 1. Januar 1894 in Kolkata; † 4. Februar 1974 ebenda) war ein indischer Physiker, der wichtige Beiträge zur mathematischen und statistischen Physik lieferte. Insbesondere ist seine Zusammenarbeit mit Albert Einstein zur Gasförmigkeit der elektromagnetischen Strahlung anerkannt worden.

Ein kurzer Artikel über die Quantenstatistik der Photonen, den er im Alter von 27 Jahren verfasste, als er an der University of Dhaka arbeitete, erregte die Aufmerksamkeit von Albert Einstein. Einstein übernahm die Idee und wandte sie auch auf Atome an. Damit sagte er die Existenz der so genannten Bose-Einstein-Kondensate voraus. Nach Bose sind die Bose-Einstein-Statistik sowie die Bosonen (von Paul Dirac) benannt. Auf einer Reise durch Europa 1924 arbeitete er mit Marie Curie zusammen. Er war auch Mitarbeiter von Albert Einstein. In den Jahren 1926 bis 1945 war er Professor an der University of Dhaka.

Bose wurde 1958 zum Fellow of the Royal Society gewählt und 1959 ernannte ihn die Regierung von Indien zum National Professor. Er wurde auch vom indischen Präsidenten geehrt.
