Die Schiller International University ist eine private amerikanische Universität mit fünf Campus in fünf Ländern. Diese befinden sich in London (England), Paris (Frankreich), Madrid (Spanien), Heidelberg (Deutschland) und Largo (USA).
1964 gegründet von Dr. Walter Leibrecht als ein Austauschprogramm für Amerikaner in Deutschland, bildet die Universität heute Studenten aus über 100 Ländern aus. Der deutschen Tradition folgend, eine Schule nach einer historischen Persönlichkeit zu benennen, wurde die Universität zu Ehren von Friedrich Schiller, dem deutschen Dichter und Philosoph, benannt.
Ähnlich wie bei anderen international operierenden amerikanischen Universitäten können die Studenten zwischen den Standorten in den verschiedenen Ländern wechseln, ohne Studienzeit oder Kreditpunkte zu verlieren.
Die SIU bietet folgende akademische Grade:
- Associate: International Business, International Hotel and Tourism Management, Tourism or Food Management, Club/Resort Management, General Studies.
- Bachelor: International Business, Financial Management, Management, Marketing and Management of Information Technology, International Business Administration, International Hotel and Tourism Management, Club/Resort Management, Psychology, International Relations and Diplomacy, Economics, International Economics, Interdepartmental Studies.
- Master: International Business, International Hotel and Tourism Management, Management of Information Technology, Financial Planning (nur online), International Management, International Hotel and Tourism Management, International Relations and Diplomacy, Communications.
Schiller International Schools
Die SIU besitzt zwei Schiller International Schools (SIS), eine Art hochschulvorbereitende Schulen, die eine Ausbildung auf Sekundarstufe anbieten. Beide ermöglichen den Schülern einige Jahre an Partner-High Schools in Europa zu verbringen.
