Die Schizogonie oder auch Merogonie ist eine Form der ungeschlechtlichen Fortpflanzung bei Einzellern, vor allem bei den Sporentierchen. Hierbei entstehen aus dem ursprünglichen Kern durch einfache Mitosen zahlreiche Tochterkerne im Zellkörper, aus denen nach dem Zerfall der Mutterzelle, des Schizonten (diese haben bei Malaria tertiana meist acht Kerne), neue Individuen (Merozoiten) hervorgehen.
