Security & Privacy Complete ist eine freie (unter der GPL) Sicherheitssoftware.
Das Programm hilft bei den Sicherheitseinstellungen für Windows, den Windows Media Player, den Internet Explorer und Mozilla Firefox. Mit dem Open-Source-Projekt können unter anderem komfortabel unbenötigte Dienste beendet werden, die ein Sicherheitsrisiko darstellen können. Für den Internet Explorer und Mozilla Firefox beinhaltet das Dienstprogramm auch Einstellungen, um die Privatsphäre zu schützen.
Eigenschaften
Es werden in der Registrierungsdatenbank einige Einstellungen vorgenommen. Zum Beispiel lassen sich Dienste wie RPC-Namensdienst, DCOM oder LM-Hash, die in der Vergangenheit häufig der Grund für Sicherheitslöcher gewesen waren, deaktivieren. Es kann gleich direkt der Windows Messenger deinstalliert werden. Im Internet Explorer und im Windows Media Player werden einige Einstellungen entfernt. Im Unterschied zu anderen Programmen dieser Art werden auch Einstellungen für den Mozilla Firefox angeboten.
