Babbling idiot

Ein Babbling Idiot ist in einem Netzwerk ein Knoten, der versucht, Nachrichten zu Zeitpunkten zu senden, die nicht mit dem Netzwerk synchronisiert sind.

Er kann somit die Knoten stören, die ihre Nachrichten synchron mit dem Netzwerk übertragen. Dadurch kann es zu einem vollständigen Kommunikationsverlust im Netzwerk kommen. Um dem vorzubeugen, besitzt jeder Netwerkteilnehmer einen sogenannten Buswächter (Bus Guardian). Dieser stellt sicher, dass der Netzwerkteilnehmer nur innerhalb seines statisch zugewiesenen Zeitslots sendet.
