UAS7 (Seven Universities of Applied Sciences) ist eine strategische Allianz von sieben deutschen Hochschulen zur Förderung ihrer Lehr- und Forschungsaktivitäten. Gemeinsames Ziel ist es, die Präsenz auf dem amerikanischen Bildungsmarkt und Kooperationen mit führenden amerikanischen Hochschulen auszubauen.
UAS7 unterhält im „Deutschen Haus“ in New York ein Büro, wodurch vor Ort für die Angebote der Hochschulen geworben werden kann.
Die UAS7-Hochschulen verstehen sich als Universitäten für Angewandte Wissenschaften mit hohen Standards in Lehre und praxisnaher Forschung. Die Hochschulen verständigten sich auf einen gemeinsamen Qualitätsanspruch. Damit soll die Qualifikation der Studierenden auf einem sehr hohen Niveau gesichert werden.
Geschichte
Das Netzwerk wurde 2005 ins Leben gerufen. Als eines der ersten gemeinsamen Angebote wurde von UAS7 in 2006 eine hochschulübergreifende Summer School für amerikanische Studierende organisiert.
Anknüpfend an die erfolgreiche Arbeit der ersten Jahre, ist das UAS7-Bündnis im Juli 2007 als Verein formiert worden. Seinen Sitz hat der UAS7 e. V. in Berlin.
