Shadow of the Beast

Shadow of the Beast ist ein Computerspiel aus dem Genre Action-Adventure von Reflections Interactive. Erstmals im Jahre 1989 von Psygnosis für den Amiga veröffentlicht, erschien es später auf einer Vielzahl anderer Plattformen. So existieren auch Umsetzungen für Konsolen wie Sega Mega Drive, Super NES, Atari Lynx, Sega Master System und das in Europa relativ unbekannte FM Towns.

Der Spieler steuert dabei die Hauptfigur Aarbron, welche die Verwandlung vom Beast zum Menschen erfährt, durch die insgesamt 3 Teile der Saga.

Das Spiel besaß, nach damaligen Maßstäben gemessen, beeindruckende Grafik und Sound und wurde mit einigen Auszeichnungen versehen. Die Teile 2 und 3 erschienen in den Jahren 1990 und 1992. Die atmosphärische Musik wurde von David Whittaker komponiert, er benutzte dafür Samples echter Instrumente.
