Eine Shelf Company ist ein Unternehmen das „off the shelf“ ist, d. h. es wurde vor kurzem gegründet, ist aber nicht in die aktuelle Muttergesellschaft integriert.

Bei einem Verkauf hat der neue Eigentümer lediglich Details zu ändern, da das Unternehmen im Wesentlichen eigenständig und nicht mit der Muttergesellschaft verknüpft ist.
