Strawberry Field ist der Name eines ehemaligen Waisenhauses in Woolton bei Liverpool. Dieses wurde in den Jahren 1926 bis 2005 von der Heilsarmee geführt. John Lennon soll als Kind mit seinen Freunden auf dem Gelände gespielt haben. 1966 verarbeitete John Lennon seine Kindheitserinnerungen in dem Song "Strawberry Fields Forever". Nach seinem Tod gestaltete Yoko Ono einen kleinen Bereich im Central Park von New York, der John Lennon gewidmet ist und Strawberry Fields Memorial genannt wird. Er befindet sich in Höhe der 72nd Street West und Eighth Avenue Central Park West, unweit des Dakota Buildings, vor dem John Lennon am 8. Dezember 1980 einem Attentat zum Opfer fiel. Besonderes Merkmal der Strawberry Fields ist das von Yoko Ono gestaltete kreisrunde Mosaik aus schwarzen und weißen Steinchen. In dessen Zentrum ist in Anlehnung an John Lennons vielleicht berühmtesten Titel Imagine zu lesen. Jedes Jahr versammeln sich dort Menschen, um Lennons an dessen Todestag zu gedenken.
