Suncor Energy ist ein kanadisches Unternehmen mit Firmensitz in Calgary. Das Unternehmen ist im Aktienindex S&P/TSX 60 gelistet. Das Unternehmen wurde 1917 in Montreal unter dem Firmennamen Sun Company of Canada gegründet. Suncor Energy fördert Erdöl unter anderem im Gebiet der Athabasca-Ölsande in Alberta und verkauft dieses an seine Kunden. Das Unternehmen beteiligt sich auch am australischen Stuart-Ölschieferprojekt. Im März 2009 erwirbt Suncor Energy für 11 Milliarden Euro das kanadische Unternehmen Petro-Canada. [2]
