In den Taipei Wirtschafts- und Kulturbüros der Republik China auf Taiwan werden alle Aufgaben erfüllt, welcher einer Botschaft eines unabhängigen Staates im Ausland übertragen werden. Hierzu gehören die Pflege und Förderung der kulturellen, wirtschaftlichen und politischen Beziehungen zwischen den Staaten mit dem Ziel der Förderung der freundschaftlichen und friedlichen Beziehungen. Ebenso werden alle Passangelegenheiten, Aufenthalts- und Reiseangelegenheiten sowie Studienangelegenheiten umfassend geregelt und die erforderlichen Informationen erteilt.
