Taquara ist eine Stadt im brasilianischen Bundesstaat Rio Grande do Sul. Sie liegt auf 57 Metern über dem Meeresspiegel und zählte 58.139 Einwohner (2004, geschätzt). Taquara erstreckt sich über 445,76 km2.
Der Name der Stadt kommt von Taquara, einer bambusartigen Pflanze, die zur Zeit der Besiedlung die Ufer des Rio dos Sinos säumte. Taquara ist ein Zentrum vorrangig deutscher Einwanderer.
