Monty „Kip“ Sopp (* 1. November 1963 in Orlando, Florida) ist US-amerikanischer Wrestler, bekannt als „Bad Ass“ Billy Gunn und Mr. Ass als er bei World Wrestling Entertainment tätig war. Derzeit arbeitet er für Total Nonstop Action Wrestling und in unabhängigen Ligen.

Karriere

Sopp gab 1993 sein Debüt in der damaligen World Wrestling Federation und war hier fortan unter dem Namen Billy Gunn tätig. Zusammen mit seinem Storyline-Bruder Bart Gunn bildete er das Team The Smokin' Gunns. Anfang 1995 durften sie die WWF Tag Team Championship gewinnen und konnten sie im September noch ein weiteres Mal erringen. Nach einer Verletzung von Sopp ließ man sie die Titel im Mai 1996 erneut gewinnen.

Nach dem Titelverlust löste man das Team auf und Sopp fand in Jesse James einen neuen Partner und zusammen bildeten sie die The New Age Outlaws. Im November konnten auch sie die Tag Team Title gewinnen. Später wurden beide Mitglied der D-Generation X. Im März 1999 konnte Soop den WWF Hardcore Championship gewinnen und verließ kurz darauf die D-X. Später gab es dann ein Reformation der New Age Outlaws, welche dann die Tag Team Titles ein viertes Mal halten durften.

Nachdem beide auch erneut der D-X beitraten, gewannen sie die Tag Team Title mittlerweile zum fünften Mal. Eine erlittene Verletzung bedeutete für Sopp das Aus in der D-X. 2001 durfte Sopp auch den Hardcore Title erneut gewinnen, verlor ihn jedoch aufgrund der 24/7-Regel wenige Minuten später wieder. Zusammen mit Chuck Palumbo konnte Sopp zwei weitere seiner 10 Erfolge als Tag Team Champion feiern.

Am 1. November 2004 wurde Sopp entlassen und ging im Februar 2005 zu Total Nonstop Action Wrestling. Unter dem Namen Kip James bildete er hier zusammen mit BG James die Voodoo Kin Mafia. Das Stable wurde als Gegenpart zur D-Generation X der WWE aufgebaut und parodierte diese regelmäßig. Die „One Million Dollar-Challenge“, bei der es darum ging, dass die VKM einen nicht abgesprochenen Kampf gegen die DX haben wollte, beantwortete die DX/WWE nicht.

Als Cute Kip ist er Partner der Beautiful People.
