United States Coast Guard High Endurance Cutter Taney

Die USCGC[1] Taney war ein großes Küstenwachschiff der Secretary-Klasse. Sie wurde am 24. Oktober 1936 in Dienst gestellt und nach Roger B. Taney, dem Obersten Richter der Vereinigten Staten (amt. 1836 bis 1864), benannt.

Berühmt wurde die Taney, weil sie das letzte, schwimmende Schiff war, das den Angriff auf Pearl Harbor 1941 überstand. Heute ist sie ein Museumsschiff in Baltimore (Maryland), nachdem sie am 7. Dezember 1988 außer Dienst gestellt wurde.
