Der Uruguayische Peso (ISO-4217-Code: UYU) ist die Währung von Uruguay. Ein Peso wird in 100 Centésimos eingeteilt. Er ersetzte den Neuen Uruguayischen Peso (ISO 4217 UYN) am 1. März 1993 zum Kurs von 1000 Neuen Pesos zu einem Peso. Der Neue Peso selber hatte bereits im November 1973 den alten Peso im Tauschverhältnis 1000 zu 1 abgelöst. Im Umlauf sind Münzen zu 10, 20, und 50 Centésimo und 1, 2, 5, und 10 Peso, sowie Banknoten im Wert von 5, 10, 20, 50, 100, 200, 1000 und 2000 Pesos.
