Die United Ethiopian Democratic Forces (UEDF, dt. Vereinigte Äthiopische Demokratische Kräfte) ist eine Koalition aus verschiedenen äthiopischen Parteien zum gemeinsamenen und koordinierten Wahlkampf anlässlich der Parlamentswahlen vom 15. Mai 2005.
Die bedeutendsten Parteien in diesem Bündnis und gleichzeitig Gründungsmitglieder sind der Oromo National Congress, die Ethiopian Social Democratic Federal Party, die Southern Ethiopia People's Democratic Coalition, die All-Amhara People's Organization und die Ethiopian Democratic Unity Party. Zudem sind die Afar Revolutionary Democratic Unity Front (ARDUF), das All Ethiopian Socialist Movement (MEISON), die Ethiopian Democratic Union - Tehadiso (EDU Tehadiso), die Ethiopian National United Front (ENUF), die Ethiopian People Federal Democratic Unity Party (HIBREHIZB), die Ethiopian People's Revolutionary Party (EPRP), die Gambella People's United Democratic Front, (GPUDF), die Oromo People's Liberation Organization (OPLO - IBSO), (SEPDC), und die Tigrean Alliance for Democracy (TAND) der Koalition beigetreten.
Wahlergebnis von 2005
Bei den letzten Parlamentswahlen vom 15. Mai 2005 gewann die UEDF 52 Sitze des Council of People's Representatives. Davon entfallen 40 Sitze auf die Region Oromiyaa und weiteren 12 Sitze auf die Region Southern Peoples, Nations & Nationalities.
Im Oktober 2005 unterstützte die UEDF vorübergehend das andere große oppositionelle Parteienbündnis, die Coalition for Unity and Democracy (CUD), bei der Weigerung dem Council of People's Representatives (CPR) beizutreten bis allen Forderungen nachgegangen würde. Im letzten Moment gaben der damalige Parteivorsitzende Dr. Merera Gudina und sein Stellvertreter Beyene Petros bekannt, dass die UEDF dem Konzil doch beitreten werden, nachdem sie vom Zentralkomitee der Partei abgesetzt wurden[1]. Gegenwärtig (Juni 2006) wird das Parteienbündnis vom stellvertretenden Vorsitzenden Girma Shumie und dem Generalsekretär der Partei Dereje Kebede geführt. Wortführer der Partei ist der Vertreter des Distriktes West Shewa in Oromiyaa, Geberu Mariam Uturu[2].
