Vex Red ist eine englische Rockband mit elektronischen Einflüssen, die 1995 in Aldershot, England gegründet wurde.

Nach den ersten zwei Demoaufnahmen stieß 1999, Gitarrist und Sänger Terry Abbott in die Band und vervollständigte die Arbeiten an der Demo Can’t Smile. Diese brachte der Band einen Plattenvertrag und kurz darauf wurde Start With A Strong And Persistent Desire (2002) aufgenommen. Da sich der kommerzielle Erfolg aber in Grenzen hielt, wurde nach langem hin und her die Band von ihrer Plattenfirma gefeuert. Obgleich sie bereits an neuem Material arbeitete, kam es zu keinem zweiten Album, da sich die Band bereits vorher auflöste.

Ab dem Herbst 2007 ist eine Reunion von Vex Red geplant, wobei Sammy Lee Tomlinson den alten Schlagzeuger Ben Calvert ersetzen wird.
