Voltage Controlled Crystal (="Xtal") Oscillator (engl: Quarz- Oszillator mit über Spannung trimmbarer Frequenz) ist ein abgleichbarer Quarzoszillator der durch einen Quarz eine gute Frequenzstabilität aufweist. Zusätzlich kann er über eine Regelspannung nachgezogen werden, um Temperaturabhängigkeiten (oder Alterung) entgegenzuwirken. Das Einsatzgebiet sind häufig Frequenzgeneratoren und andere Hochfrequenzmess- und Prüfgeräte. Noch frequenzstabiler sind OCXOs (Oven Controlled Xtal Oscillators), deren Temperatur in einer isolierten Kammer konstant gehalten wird, um umgebungstemperaturabhängige Einflüsse zu minimieren. Darin wird der Quarz elektrisch auf z. B. 70 °C erhitzt.
