Die World Club Challenge ist ein Wettbewerb für Vereinsmannschaften im Rugby Union, der erstmals 2009 in Singapur ausgetragen wird. Die Idee zu diesem Wettbewerb stammt vom ehemaligen englischen Nationalspieler Phil Greening und ist angelehnt an den gleichnamigen Rugby-League-Wettbewerb. Die Spiele werden im Juli des Jahres im Cricket Club Singapurs ausgetragen und sollen laut Planung für fünf weitere Jahre dort statt finden.[1]

Die World Club Challenge wird das erste Turnier im Rugby Union sein, bei dem Vereine aus aller Welt gegeneinander antreten. Bislang gab es in Europa den Heineken Cup und für die Südhemisphäre das Super 14, nun wird eine Schnittstelle zwischen diesen beiden Wettbewerben geschaffen. In den kommenden Jahren sollen die Gewinner der europäischen Ligen und des Super 14 eingeladen werden.[1]
