Yaqub ibn Tariq

Yaqūb ibn Tāriq († um 796) war ein persischer Astronom und Mathematiker.

Er lebte in Bagdad und galt als einer der größten Astronomen seiner Zeit. Am Hof von Al-Mansur (Abbasiden) traf er 767 wahrscheinlich den Hindu Kankah, der den Siddhanta (sanskr. siddhānta; Lehrbuch) mitgebracht hatte.
