Der Spurwechselassistent ist ein Fahrerassistenzsystem zur Warnung des Fahrers vor drohenden Kollisionen beim Spurwechsel. Das System wird beim Betätigen des Blinkers aktiviert (im Gegensatz zum Spurhalteassistenten, der dabei deaktiviert wird) und warnt den Fahrer vor Kollisionen mit (herannahenden) Fahrzeugen auf der Nachbarspur. Die Erfassung der Hindernisse erfolgt mit Radarsensoren (24 GHz oder 77 GHz), Kameras oder Laserscannern. Warnungen werden optisch durch Leuchtanzeigen, meist im Bereich der Außenspiegel, akustisch oder haptisch durch Vibration des Lenkrads, der Fahrersitzfläche oder des Blinkerhebels ausgegeben. Eine Weiterentwicklung stellt die Spurwechselunterstützung, auch Lane Change Support, dar.
