Die American Radio Relay League (ARRL) ist die nationale Vereinigung der Funkamateure in der USA, vergleichbar mit dem DARC in Deutschland. Gegründet wurde die ARRL im Mai 1914 von Hiram Percy Maxim. Momentan hat der Verein ca. 156.000 Mitglieder

Service des Vereins

Die ARRL bietet verschiedene Angebote für seine Mitglieder an, dazu gehören:

  • Das Herausgeben eines Magazines über die ARRL mit dem Namen QST.
  • Kostenloser Versand von QSL-Karten an andere auf der ganzen Welt verteilte QSL-Büros anderer nationaler Amateurfunkorganisationen
  • Das Herausbringen von Büchern und Magazinen zum Thema Amateurfunk
  • Das Veranstalten verschiederner Contests (Wettbewerbe), unter anderem des International DX Contest, verschiedener UKW-Contests usw.
  • Das Vertreten der Interessen der Funkamateure in den USA gegenüber Politik, Wirtschaft und Wissenschaft
