Das Centro di Documentazione Ebraica Contemporanea – CDEC (Dokumentationszentrum jüdischer Zeitgeschichte) ist ein unabhängiges Institut in Mailand (Italien), in dem geschichtliche und kulturelle Ereignisse der jüdisch-italienischen Bevölkerung dokumentiert und archiviert werden.

Dieses Dokumentationszentrum wurde 1955 durch Initiative des Verbandes der jüdischen Jugend in Italien (Federazione Giovanile Ebraica Italiana) gegründet. Nach der 1957 festgelegten Verfassung des Instituts werden sowohl antisemitische Schriften als auch Beweisdokumente des jüdischen Widerstands objektiv behandelt und archiviert.

Seit 1986 arbeiten Archivare und Forscher ehrenamtlich in der Stiftung Centro di Documentazione Ebraica Contemporanea. Seit 2002 leitet Michele Sarfatti diese Institution.

Das geschichtliche Zentrum ist eine Lern- und Forschungseinrichtung, die in folgende Fachbereiche mit spezifischen Interessen aufgeteilt ist:

  • Bibliothek
  • Videothek
  • Geschichtliches Archiv
  • Schadensdokumentation
  • Didaktik des Holocaust

Speziell das geschichtliche Archiv, das mit internationalen Stiftungen wie dem Institut Yad Vashem in Jerusalem zusammenarbeitet, ist für die gegenseitige Anerkennung der Nationen wichtig.
